Summer Mountain Mini Sessions at Mount Falcon | Family Photographer in Parker, Colorado.

Summer Mountain Mini Sessions are here! Join Nicola Jane Photography at Mount Falcon West for beautiful Colorado family photos. Limited June, July, and August dates available.

If you've been waiting for the perfect time to update your family photos, summer in Colorado is hard to beat.

The mountains are lush and green, the evenings are warm, and the golden sunlight creates the most beautiful backdrop for family portraits. It's one of my favorite times of year to photograph families because everything feels relaxed. School is out, schedules are a little slower, and families can focus on simply being together.

One question I hear all the time is:

"Do you offer family sessions?"

The answer is yes—and this summer I'm excited to offer a limited number of Summer Mountain Mini Sessions at Mount Falcon West.

What Are Summer Mountain Mini Sessions?

Mini sessions are designed for families who want updated photos without committing to a full-length portrait session.

These sessions are short, simple, and stress-free while still providing beautiful images you'll love displaying in your home.

Each session includes:

  • 25-minute session

  • 15 digital images

  • Immediate family only

  • Beautiful mountain scenery at Mount Falcon West

  • $600

After your session, I will carefully select the best images from your gallery. If your session includes more than 15 images, you'll receive an online gallery where you can choose your 15 favorite photographs. You'll also have the option to purchase additional digital images, with collections available for $35 per image, $150 for 5 images, or $250 for 10 images.

Why Mount Falcon West?

Mount Falcon West is one of my favorite Colorado locations for family photography.

Located just outside Denver, it offers stunning mountain views, open spaces, beautiful trails, and incredible evening light. The scenery feels distinctly Colorado without requiring a long mountain drive.

Whether your children are toddlers, school-aged, or teenagers, the location provides plenty of space to move, explore, and create natural, authentic moments.

The result is a gallery that feels relaxed, connected, and timeless.

2026 Summer Mini Session Dates

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What happens if it rains?

Colorado weather can be unpredictable, especially in the mountains. If weather conditions are unsafe or the forecast calls for significant rain, a backup date will be provided. I will always communicate any changes as early as possible.

  2. Who can participate in a mini session?

These sessions are reserved for immediate family members only. Mini sessions are designed to be quick and efficient, allowing me to accommodate multiple families throughout the day.

  3. What should we wear?

The best place to start is with the most difficult person to dress—whether that's your husband, your teenager, or a child with strong clothing preferences. Once you've chosen their outfit, coordinate everyone else's clothing around it.

The goal is to coordinate, not match. Choose colors that complement each other and the natural mountain scenery rather than putting everyone in identical outfits. Neutral tones, soft earth colors, and subtle textures tend to photograph beautifully at Mount Falcon.

  4. How long is the session?

Mini sessions are a maximum of 25 minutes. Please plan to arrive early, as sessions begin promptly at their scheduled time.

Because multiple families are scheduled throughout the evening, late arrivals will only receive the remaining time in their allotted mini-session. Unfortunately, I cannot extend sessions due to delays, so arriving a few minutes early helps ensure you get the full experience.

  5. Can we bring our dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join your family session. Please let me know ahead of time if you plan to bring your pup so we can plan accordingly.

  6. What if my kids don't cooperate?

Please don't stress about this. Truly.

Children don't need to sit still and smile at the camera for the entire session. Some of the best photographs come from the in-between moments—the cuddles, giggles, exploring, and genuine interactions that happen naturally. My goal is to make the experience fun and relaxed so we can capture your family just as you are.

Don't Wait Too Long

Colorado summers always seem to fly by.

One minute you're planning summer activities, and the next you're shopping for back-to-school supplies.

The little things change so quickly—the missing teeth, the way your child reaches for your hand, the laughter, the cuddles, and all of the small moments that make this season uniquely yours.

These Summer Mountain Mini Sessions are an opportunity to preserve those memories while surrounded by some of Colorado's most beautiful scenery.

If you've been thinking about updating your family photos, I'd love to help you capture this season before it's gone.
